Construction Diving
Underwater Solutions provide construction diving teams, vessels, specialised equipment and consultation for the marine construction industry both in coastal and inland waterways. Our operational staff all hold New Zealand Certificates of Competency as construction divers, as well as international diving qualifications. We have a proven track record of successful construction projects both as a sub-contractor and lead contractor.
Sub Marine Cables
Underwater Solutions is New Zealand’s most experienced diving contractor in the sub marine cable industry. Our staff have been involved in major cable projects across the world as divers, supervisors and client representatives. We have vast experience working on both fibre optic and power cable systems across the South Pacific region. We can offer services that include shore end landings, articulated pipe installation, cable burial, repairs and maintenance.
Marine Salvage
Underwater Solutions dive teams are experienced in marine salvage and the company has successfully completed many salvages and wreck removals. We can provide diver and vessel assistance through to full turnkey salvage operations. Our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Salvage operations are time critical and our base in Wellington provides a central location to mobilise for a quick response across New Zealand.
Geotechnical Investigations
Seabed Geotechnical Investigations Underwater Solutions undertakes in water and surface-based seabed geotechnical investigations to assist with designing and construction of wharves, pipelines and other marine structures. Our vessel “Crane Barge 1” is fitted with a moon pool for surface-based investigations such as Cone Penetration Testing. Our dive teams can undertake in water testing including Scala Penetrometer, Shear Vane, seabed probing and push tube sampling.
Shipping Services
Underwater Solutions provide diving services to the shipping industry working on any type of vessel that requires survey, inspection, repairs or maintenance. Our management team has over 60 years of combined experience undertaking ships surveys and repairs. We own a range of equipment specific to underwater ships maintenance including CCTV systems, photographic equipment, hull cleaning and propeller polishing systems. Our dive teams are trained in identification of invasive species and we can undertake biosecurity hull clearances for vessels entering New Zealand waters or visiting protected areas.
Demolition
Underwater Solutions provide turnkey packages for marine demolition of structures such as wharves jetties, piles, slipways and seawalls. We have a range of underwater equipment for breaking and cutting steel, wooden or concrete structures in or around the water. Within our fleet of vessels, we have pontoons and barges which provide access and working platforms around and under wharves. Our vessel “Crane Barge 1” is equipped with a crane and deck space for removing debris and demolition materials.
Scientific and Environmental Services
Underwater Solutions provide specialist diving, fabrication and construction services to the scientific and environmental monitoring industry. We offer design and build solutions for one off specialised projects and sites in remote locations including coastal, lakes and rivers. Our fabrication workshop can design and construct equipment cabinets, access solutions and instrumentation mounting systems to meet specific requirements.
